Henkel has entered into an agreement to acquire Nattura Laboratorios S.A. de C.V., based in Guadalajara, Mexico, and its subsidiaries in the United States, Colombia and Spain. The goal is to strengthen its Beauty Care business unit and expand its presence in emerging and mature markets. The negotiation includes the portfolio of leading brands of hair products for professional use, with Pravana and Tec Italy as the most relevant brands. In fiscal year 2016, Nattura generated sales in excess of 100 million euros.
“This acquisition is part of our strategy to strengthen our position in highly attractive markets and categories. We will expand our hair products business in Mexico and leverage our portfolio of brands in the North American professional market, “said Henkel CEO Hans Van Bylen.
“The high-quality and performance brands of Nattura Laboratorios have perfect synergy with our professional cosmetics business, which has the Schwarzkopf Professional brand. They will complement our key hair color category and will strengthen Henkel’s position as the 3rd largest global company in this segment. In addition, this transaction will provide us with a platform for growth in the Latin American market, “says Pascal Houdayer, Executive Vice President and Head of Henkel’s Beauty Care business unit.
No financial information was provided for the transaction. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
