Wheaton Brasil has just acquired Veresense do Brasil (formerly SGD) and is now one of the largest global manufacturers of glass packaging for the perfumery, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industry. The merger will guarantee an increase of about 28% for Wheaton in Brazil, which will see its revenues close to the R $ 1 billion mark.
Verescence is of French origin and is the largest manufacturer of glass packaging for perfumes in the world. It has been in Brazil since late 90s with the strategy to serve a few large companies. Among its clients are Natura, for whom it developed a supply operation of recycled glass packaging, O Boticário and Avon.
Wheaton has 4 melting furnaces and 24 production lines, own manufacturing of molds and machines as well as a complete structure of bottle decoration. There are more than 3,000 professionals operating on the site that has been adapted and modernized since August to receive the Verescence lines, which will have its operations in the Água Branca neighborhood transferred to the Wheaton plant in São Bernardo do Campo without disruption in customer service.
Wheaton Brasil is a 100% Brazilian company and has become one of the largest global manufacturers of glass packaging for the perfumery, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industry in the world. Now in the country besides Wheaton, only the Brazilian Vidraria Anchieta serve the market. Mexican glass supplier Vitro, which in 2014 announced the construction of a factory in Bahia has not yet started operations in the country.
While able to absorb potential market growth, Wheaton plans to build a new furnace in the next 3 years. “We are confident and believe in increasing our sales to the export, domestic market and growth of Brazil,” the company said in a statement.
