The Brazilian Association of the Personal Hygiene, Perfumery and Cosmetics Industry – Abihpec – and the National Health Surveillance Agency – Anvisa – yesterday signed a Cooperation Protocol.

The document, signed by the executive president of Abihpec, João Carlos Basílio da Silva and Anvisa’s CEO, Jarbas Barbosa, will seek to continuously improve the regulation of the personal hygiene, perfumery and cosmetics sector, especially in relation to the administrative procedures of regulation, regularization, monitoring and inspection of Toiletries, Perfumery and Cosmetic products.

The Protocol establishes the general principles, of which both institutions will direct efforts, resources and competences for the joint accomplishment of activities, works, programs and projects of communication, scientific, normative and technical of common interest in the area of Sanitary Surveillance. It also foresees, among other actions, the exchange of information and planning of actions aimed at gaining effectiveness and efficiency in the regularization procedures of TPC products, including evaluation of the impact to the regulated sector of alteration of regulations, especially the deadlines for adequacy; benefiting the sector as a whole.
