Last week, the Australian Senate passed a bill that would end animal testing for cosmetics. The move means that Australia has joined the EU and the UK to effectively banning cosmetic animals testing in Australia.

The bill must be returned to the Chamber of Deputies for consideration. Once passed by Parliament, the notes go to the Royal Ascent. Once approved the ban will take effect as of July 1, 2020 and will not affect any cosmetic products currently on the shelves.
