BASF presented on Monday, the 9th, the winners of the 10th BASF Award for Suppliers Excellence, at an event held in São Paulo. The award aims to stimulate the development of the supply chain through the evaluation of the performance of companies and the recognition of partners that contribute to the joint evolution of processes, reaching a high level of excellence. This year, 61 companies were evaluated in seven categories: Warehousing, Equipment and Materials, Raw Materials, Packaging, Services, Shipowners and Transport.
To compete for the Award, suppliers needed to participate in Together for Sustainability, an initiative that seeks to promote sustainability and increase transparency in the chemical industry’s supply chain.
The technical evaluation was divided into two stages: Performance, in which the participating suppliers were evaluated in the Quality, Delivery and Attendance; and Sustainable Innovation. In the next stage, the first three places of each category presented a sustainability case and were evaluated under the lens of innovative, sustainable and socially challenging solutions and challenges.
“BASF believes that a successful economy is aligned with social, environmental and financial responsibilities. By defining sustainable innovation and performance as pillars of the BASF Excellence Award, we reinforce our commitment to the development of the entire chain and the national chemical industry, “says Marcelo Leonessa, BASF’s Vice President of Procurement for South America.
