The French retail group Carrefour announced on Monday in a statement “exclusive negotiations” with the developer Altea Congedim to acquire 100% of the shares of the French e-commerce company Rue Du Commerce, which sells beauty and wellness products, as well as household items and technology.

Carrefour Carrefour wants to accelerate multichannel strategy and strengthen its position in e-commerce non-food products, according to a company statement. The CEO of Carrefour, Georges Plassat said in late July that the group could be strengthened in the areas of new technologies and digitalization.

Rueducommerce.fr receives more than 5 million unique visitors per month. The website has an extensive beauty and fragrance offer, with brands such as   Azzaro, Calvin Klein, Gloss!!, L’Oréal, Markwins and Paco Rabanne.The value of the deal was undisclosed and the transaction is subject to approval of representative bodies and the approval of competition authorities.
