Kantar, the market research, Insights and Consulting agency of the British company WPP, developed a survey among 1500 people in the State of São Paulo, providing a sequence of phrases about people’s behavior in relation to beauty care. Respondents indicated and / or agreed whether they were indifferent or disagreed with the statements.
The survey, developed in the third quarter (3Q) of 2019 revealed that among people who responded, appearance is important for 81% of women. Among men, appearance is important for 75.6%, that is, a growth in 2019 of 2.2%, compared to the 3Q of 2018.
Another of the insights agency’s claims, 58.9% of people agreed with the statement “I do what I can to look young,” with 62.4% among women 55.3% among men, a small increase of 0, 8% in 2019, compared to the same period in 2018.
In relation to spending, 47.8% “Likes to spend a lot on beauty products”. Of this total, 59.8% of women and 35.5% of men, an increase of + 0.3% in 2019 vs 2018.
More than 60% of Brazilians do not seek dermatologists. Of the people who seek professional treatments, most seek dermatologists specialized in facial health, in 3Q 2019, among them, 64.1% do not see a doctor / dermatologist and 23.9% seek dermatologists for the face.
Among the Brazilians who underwent in general way aesthetic treatments in the last 6 months, 19.5% had facials, 25.4% manicurist and 23.0% pedicurist.
A novelty is that the weekly use of face creams related to anti-aging grows in the 3Q of 2019. Of those who use face cream, 53.1% use specific anti-wrinkle and anti-aging, an increase of 6.2% in the 3Q of 2019 in compared to 2018.
Sun Protection had a 0.6% drop in 2019, compared to the previous year, with 47.4% in the T3 of 2019. Skin firming had an increase by 2.1% in 3Q 2019 compared to 2018, with 35.6% of respondents who said they used the product.
