The French luxury goods group LVMH, which owns brands such as Dior, Guerlain and Givenchy, said it will start using the production lines of its perfume and cosmetics unit to produce large quantities of hydroalcoholic gels, around 12 tonnes, at no cost.
“These gels will be delivered free of charge to health authorities,” said a company statement.
“LVMH will continue to honor this commitment for as long as necessary,” the statement said. France has already registered 120 deaths due to the pandemic and the LVMH thus meets a need for everyone by making available a crucial product for the moment the country is experiencing.
The attitude also justifies keeping the company’s factories open and its employees working, positioning the company in a responsible way, in front of its consumers and employees. Above all, contrary to the idea that everything produced in the company is a luxury product for sophisticated consumers.
