Research Mintel – part of the recently launched Body Care Products report – reveals that 52% of Brazilians are interested in products that improve their well-being, such as fragrances that help them relax. This attitude is part of the trend Mintel has identified as Mood to Order. According to it, consumers are increasingly concerned about their emotional well-being and have sought ways to lessen stress and improve mood and positive emotions through the use of products.

Among consumers who said they are interested in products that improve their well-being, 86% are interested in liquid/bar soap (“body wash”). Bathing is often considered a relaxing time of day. “Liquid and bar soaps can help consumers in their quest for wellness through their fragrances, delivering benefits that go beyond skin hydration. Products that help consumers relax to have a quiet night, or feel more ready for a full day, can be examples of innovation. ”

“For example, the Liu Shen Natural Aromatherapy Relaxing Lavender Body Wash, launched in China in March 2018, has in its formula lavender essential oil, promising a calming and relaxing effect during bathing. In India, it was launched in March 2018 the Love Organically Sleep with Love Lavender Sleep Tight Body Wash. The liquid soap should be used before bedtime to provide prolonged and restful sleep after an active day, “says Juliana Martins, Mintel Senior Beauty and Personal Care specialist.
