Natura & Co Latin America issued a statement informing its shareholders and the market in general that it is closely monitoring the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic by Latin American countries, in order to take preventive measures to minimize the spread of the virus, ensure continuity of operations and, essentially, promote the health and safety of people.
“In view of the seriousness of the scenario brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Companies reiterate the Natura & Co Group’s commitment to the well-being of its network of relationships, without neglecting the need to keep business running.
In this sense, the companies inform that, “in order to meet the current market need and the applicable regulation, the factories in Latin America started to privilege essential personal hygiene items, in addition to gel and liquid alcohol, which are crucial to stop the spread of COVID19. ”
The group implemented the authorities’ guidelines, such as encouraging remote work and the home office regime, closing retail stores and not adopting any layoff program in the next 60 days, among other measures.
At the same time, the company launched a campaign on TV that aims to make people aware precisely of how to unite in this moment of crisis of the new coronavirus in a new way. Together, even physically apart. It announced practical actions to help the population overcome the new Coronavirus and stands for the continuity of remote activities that guarantee a source of income for the company’s consultants so that the consultants do not circulate, but keep their businesses active.
The Group will temporarily suspend the production of makeup and perfumes in seven Avon and Natura factories in Latin America, so that they dedicate themselves to the manufacture of gel and liquid alcohol, 15 tons of gel alcohol and 150 thousand liters of alcohol in solution 70% will be donated in full to the Health Department of the State of São Paulo to be used in health posts.
