The natural riches of Peru and Colombia will be the theme of a workshop in Europe to help companies interested in produce cosmetic products that use the biodiversity resources of these countries to do so in an orderly manner, sharing benefits and in accordance with the laws of those countries.

Organized by UNITS, the Center for the Promotion of Importation from Developing Countries (CBI) and the industry association Cosmetics Europe, the workshop will be held on 6 December at La Cour Boétie in Paris and will provide specialized information for access to these natural resources, throughout the Latin American region, once the implementation of the regulations are still in early stage.

The current regulations implemented by the Brazilian government to protect its forests, which include the payment of 1% of the Benefit Repartition in each of the manufactured products, were considered severe by European companies that are seeking to understand the laws of Peru and Colombia, to include natural resources of the exotic flora of the Latin American countries in their products.

The workshop aims to help guide European business around regulations by providing presentations from environmental experts from both countries, focusing on the resources available, as well as networking sessions and Q & A.
