Procter & Gamble will list the ingredients used in fragrances for each of its 2000 online products with fragrances that have more than 0.01 percent concentration by 2019 as part of a growing movement of transparency desired by consumers.
The company will start with products for washing clothes, household cleaning and beauty products for which the company says receive more consultations.
“Our goal is to give people clear, reliable and accessible information to enable consumers to make informed choices,” said Kathy Fish, Technology Director. ”
The company will also help consumers gain a greater understanding of the ingredients by listing in which products the ingredients can be found.
P & G’s initiative follows that of SC Johnson company that makes leading global household brands (Mr Muscle, Raid, Baygon, etc.) started to disclose the specific fragrance ingredients contained in each of its household products.
