Rhodia is starting, for the second consecutive year, the project Museu de Arte Jovem (Young Art Museum), of social inclusion through art designed to public school students of cities of Santo Andre, Sao Bernardo do Campo, Paulinia and Jacarei, in Sao Paulo state, where the company maintain industrial plants.

In total, it will be benefited 400 students, from 12 to 17 years old, from 28 state schools.

Into the selection criteria which include school frequency and participation in every school curriculum disciplines, the students are choose by teachers and pedagogical teachers.

Along the year, the students participate of extra-curricular classes, in a total of four hours weekly, on which they learn more about arts and produce painting about “Brazilian biodiversity”. To stimulate the participation, the Museu de Arte Jovem  awards and exposes best pictures in different cities.

The first place will gain a cultural travel around France, in 2008, with a companion with all the expanses paid.

According to Odete Duarte, Rhodia corporative communication director,  the realization of this kind of Project helps to complete the education background through art, focusing on themes which reinforces the citizenship practic, improves the self confidence and the school utilization, besides offering to the students an activity on the school that maintain them far from risk situations. 

Nowadays the Project encircles seven Brazilian states – Sao Paulo, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso e Parana -, reaching 20 municipal districts which have benefited, in 2007, a total of 2100 students
