Dia dos Namorados, or Valentine’s Day in other parts of the worlds, is celebrated in February, in Brazil on June 12. For trade, the date is positive, and according to Kantar, a global leader in data, insights and consumer panel consulting, is the second date on which Brazilians spend more on gifts.
Consumers, on average, invested R $ 94 per gift for this purpose in 2018. In 2017, R $ 104. “The date loses only for Father’s Day, an occasion that had an average ticket increasing from R $ 94 to R $ 103 in the two previous years,” analyzes Giovanna Fischer, Director of Marketing and Insights at Kantar.
The ranking of gifts spending is complete with the birthday in third place and Mother’s Day in fourth place. Christmas comes last with an average purchase ticket of R $ 64 in 2018. It is worth mentioning that when it comes to the amount of people who present these three dates are ahead.
When it comes to choosing what to buy, female fragrances are preferred, representing more than half of those present on this date. Then appear the categories of male fragrances and body care products.
